HOW ALOPECIA MADE US TRAVEL TO INDIA AND MEET MOST INCREDIBLE PEOPLE
My name is Spela Seme and I live in Slovenia, EU. I was diagnosed with alopecia areata at age of 13 with only one small round patch on the back of my head. That was 26 years ago. So I live twice as long without hair than with it! At the beginning I tried almost everything to get it back as one can imagine a teenage girl would do. For a start doctors suggested PUVA what stands for the use of a psoralen drug (P) in combination with Ultraviolet A (UVA) light. It did not give any results and years later I heard in the USA it might even cause skin cancer later in life! Doctors told me there is no cure for this autoimmune disease and that hair often grows back suddenly as it fell off since hair follicles stay alive.
Well it did not. So after western medicine did not offer any solution I tried every holistic approach imaginable, even traveled to Brasil when I was 17 years old! Nothing helped and I lost all my hair in a year after discovering a first bald patch. After that my right eyebrow gradually fell out and then months later slowly the left one. Then the eyelashes. I am the only child and my parents did everything to help but to no avail. I learned to live without having hair on my body. To be honest I was so successfull at that that I really do not miss it today. I was blessed with many talents and great parents who incouraged me to develop them - as many as possible.
So I can say I live my life fully and do not let my hair to run it for me.
Since I am an architect, licenced tour guide and had worked also in management and beauty industry I had traveled all over the world for my studies and work. I was also trained as a support group leader for people who experience a hair loss. So 10 years ago, after returning from the USA to EU I started a support group for alopecia areata patients to transfer my experiences and give support. We had helped many people with emotional, psychological and aesthetic struggles that surface when diagnosed with alopecia areata or any hair loss in that matter.
But I was somehow not satisfied with it. End of 2011 I discovered by chance a website of Dr. Rohit Shah. I could not believe my eyes what I was reading and seeing on this pictures! Somebody in India (Dr. Rohit) was claiming he has high success rate with alopecia areata patients ! Moreover the treatment is only topical, 100 % natural, no side effects remedies! He was apparently working in this field for more than 11 years and I traveled the world without hearing about him?!!! I had to visit him and see for my own eyes! I was ok with no hair for years now but how could this discovery change lifes of hundreds in our support group that are still struggling emotionally!
I am also blessed with very supportive, loving and knowledgeable husband Robin. We had decided 10 years ago to join forces to work in the field of hair loss so we visited Dr. Rohit together. I was more then impressed by his and his wife's expertise and genuine wish to help people with hair loss in their Alopecia Clinic. We both decided to take an opportunity and get training so we could properly inform EU patients about this incredible natural option. We have seen more than 80 patients in 5 days and have learned really a lot. We also met few follow up patients and saw the excellent results of herbal therapy. Dr Rohit's herbal therapy gives excellent results in primary alopecia areata, patchy alopecia areata, ophiasis
alopecia areata, however I was most impressed how honestly Dr. Rohit told me that the success rate of herbal therapy in alopecia universalis cases is poor. He does not recommend to try herbal therapy for those patients who have had history of alopecia totalis or universalis for 3 years or more.
We have now a better understanding about how herbal therapy helps in different types of alopecia and we are back to our home country to give our best services to our patients.
