What are the Basic Principles of Ayurveda?
style7Ayurveda is based on the premise that the universe is made up of five elements: air, fire, water, earth and ether. These elements are represented in humans by three "doshas", or energies: Vata, Pitta and Kapha. When any of the doshas accumulate in the body beyond the desirable limit, the body loses its balance. Every individual has a distinct balance, and our health and well-being depend on getting a right balance of the three doshas ("tridoshas"). Ayurveda suggests specific lifestyle and nutritional guidelines to help individuals reduce the excess dosha. A healthy person, as defined in Sushrut Samhita, one of the primary books on Ayurveda, is "he whose doshas are in balance, appetite is good, all tissues of the body and all natural urges are functioning properly, and whose mind, body and spirit are cheerful...

Intra dermal cortisone injections
Topical minoxidil

About alopecia areata
I am currently diagnosed as alopecia areata. Is there any way to know weather it will covert into alopecia totalis or universalis ?
Alopecia areata prognosis is different for each person. When a bald patch first develops, it is difficult to predict how it will progress. alopecia areata behaves in a different way in each person. There are no symptoms before bald patches appear, and no diagnostic test to know weather it will covert into alopecia totalis or universalis.
What about extensive alopecia areata where greater than 50 percent hair is lost?
Herbal treatment definitely helps in such patients. The success rate is high compare to other treatments, however duration of the treatment varies from person to person. We had seen in our clinical practice that some patients got faster recovery but some took much time to respond herbal treatments.
I am a patient of alopecia totalis / alopecia universalis. Will herbal therapy work for me ?
Alopecia totalis and alopecia universalis are extreme stage of alopecia areata and there is no 100% guaranteed cure in any pathy.
Herbal treatment gives different results in chronic alopecia totalis or alopecia universalis patients. Few patients responded and got some regrow but not every one. Some patients got their eyebrows back but did not responded over scalp.
We recommend our patient to try our herbal treatments as a clinical trial because some were benefitted but not everyone.

Miscellaneous
Which shampoo is best for my hair ? Using shampoo is harmful ? Is herbal shampoo better and safe option ? will you provide me shampoo as a part of my treatment ?
It is really difficult to give the perfect answer of which brand of shampoo is best for your hair. Shampoo is a HAIR CARE product which is prepared to wash your hair and removal of oils, dirt, dandruff, environmental pollutants and other contaminant particles however some harsh shampoo also can remove the natural oils (sebum) which is necessary to lubricate the hair shaft. Some companies use "all-natural, 100% herbal, organic, botanical words for marketing their products but The effectiveness of these organic ingredients is disputed. it is very difficult to prepare 100% chemical free herbal shampoo. The fact is that there are no shampoo that can stop or reverse hair loss. It is advisable not to change the brand of shampoo so frequently and stick to one brand which suits you. We do not provide any shampoo as a part of our treatment. There is no need of specific brand of shampoo during our treatment. Patient can use any suitable brand of shampoo with herbal therapy.
Can Hair Loss Be a Sign of Other illness?
Yes, hair loss can definitely be sign of other medical problems too.
If you have always had healthy, thick hair that grows in a normal cycle, a sudden loss of hair or hair thinning can be a sign of stress or illness.
Malnutrition, Anemia, Hyperthyroidism and Hypothyroidism, Hormonal imbalance, Systematic Lupus Erythematosus etc. are example of few medical conditions which triggers hair loss.
Sudden hair loss is never a good a sign. And, although many natural causes exist for this condition it is best to see your doctor immediately after the hair loss starts to rule out any serious medical condition.
