Ayurveda is the traditional medicine of India, which originated there over 5,000 years ago. Ayu means "life" and Veda means "science." According to this translation, Ayurveda means the science of life.
Widely regarded as the oldest form of healthcare in the world, Ayurveda is an intricate medical system that originated in India thousands of years ago. The fundamentals of Ayurveda can be found in Hindu scriptures called the Vedas the ancient Indian books of wisdom. The Rig Veda, which was written over 6,000 years ago, contains a series of prescriptions for different types of ailment.
Ayurveda is based on the premise that the universe is made up of five elements: air, fire, water, earth and ether. These elements are represented in humans by three "doshas", or energies: Vata, Pitta and Kapha. When any of the doshas accumulate in the body beyond the desirable limit, the body loses its balance. Every individual has a distinct balance, and our health and well-being depend on getting a right balance of the three doshas ("tridoshas"). Ayurveda suggests specific lifestyle and nutritional guidelines to help individuals reduce the excess dosha. A healthy person, as defined in Sushrut Samhita, one of the primary books on Ayurveda, is "he whose doshas are in balance, appetite is good, all tissues of the body and all natural urges are functioning properly, and whose mind, body and spirit are cheerful."

Oiling hair does not cause more hair loss. The fact is that while oiling hair, person may give a little massage so some weaken hairs fall and stick to the fingers. All those weaken hair are known as telogen hair and actual biological process has been started 3-4 months before it falls.
Scalp massage and oiling hair with natural oil can provide many benefits. A properly done scalp massage can increase blood circulation to the hair follicles, increase relaxation, decrease stress, condition the scalp, and boost the strength of the hair roots. The kneading pressure applied by massage warms the skin and opens up blood vessels to increase flow and boost circulation. Increased circulation means that the cells of the hair follicle will receive more of the nutrients necessary to optimal hair growth function.
If you massage with natural oil, it will condition the scalp, reduce the occurrence of dandruff and dry skin that can interfere with the hair growth process. Natural oils also condition the hair shaft and root, lessening the chances of brittleness, hair strand breakage, and split ends.
Washing hair does not cause more hair loss. Washing your hair will not cause it to fall out prematurely. The hair you find in your drain were already lose and ready to come out when you began shampooing. Hair loss is an internal matter and actual mechanism starts 3-4 months before it comes out.
If you cut your hair or shave off your scalp that would make it appear thicker at first because your hair is thicker at the base than the tip. After its normal life span, your hair would drop off and new hair with the same diameter as original pre-cut hair. In short, growth depends on the root of hair, not hair shaft. Shaving off scalp will never reduce hair loss but the size of the falling hair will be smaller so you will feel that now my hair loss is reduced.
Wearing a hat or helmet does not cause hair loss, unless it is worn so tight as to cut off circulation to the hair follicles.
Unless they are done excessively, blow drying will not cause hair loss.
Vitamin supplements alone cannot prevent hair loss. They can, however, help increase the health of your body and improve the function of its various systems. A healthy diet full of fresh vegetables, fruits and proteins can aid your body in optimal function. Every function of your body, including hair growth, needs the right mix of vitamins, minerals, and fuels to carry out its job properly. By choosing proper food which is full of vitamins and minerals, you can reduce the severity of your hair loss problem.
While it is true that overproduction of the male hormone or androgen called DHT is an important cause of hair loss in men and women, it is not the only cause. DHT is a natural form of testosterone produced by an enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase. It is required for normal sexual functions. Indiscriminate inhibition of this metabolite has led to sexual performance problems, such as impotence or erectile dysfunction.
Sitting in air conditioned room does not play negative role which can trigger hair loss. There is no scientific proof that AC can lead to hair loss.
It is not true that hair loss is not treatable. If you could find out the trigger for your hair loss and then if you take proper treatment, your hair loss will definitely reduce. Medical science is now so advanced and we no longer have to live with hair loss.
Garlic and onion are known for its taamsik property. They all work in much the same way as mild skin irritants. The more modern version of this type of treatment approach is using Anthralin. Jamalgota (croton) is poisonous seed and causes lot of irritation and even blisters. We recommend not doing such experiments because sometimes it can cause permanent damage to hair follicles and alopecia areata may convert into scarring alopecia.
Shampoos are prepared to wash your hair and removal of oils, dirt, dandruff, environmental pollutants and other contaminant particles from your scalp. However most people blame the shampoo when they notice hair loss or thinning. Remember that hair loss is not a single day process and actual mechanism starts 3-4 months before it comes out. The hair you find in your drain were already weak and ready to come out when you began shampooing.
Each individual has different constitution (basic nature) so it is really difficult to give the perfect answer of which brand of shampoo is best for your hair? No shampoo can be perfect for all so it is advisable not to change the brand of shampoo so frequently and stick to one brand which suits you. Washing your hair will not cause it to fall out prematurely. However some harsh shampoo also can remove the natural oils (sebum) which is necessary to lubricate the hair shaft. Some companies use "all-natural, 100% herbal, organic, botanical" words for marketing their products but the effectiveness of these organic ingredients is disputed. It is very difficult to prepare 100% chemical free shampoo.
Genetic baldness isn't caused by hair falling out but by normal hair gradually being replaced by finer, thinner hair. Shampoo has nothing to do with your androgen hormones related baldness. In short, Shampoos are not prepared as a medical product. No shampoo can cause severe hair loss or reverse hair loss. Don't waste your money for costly brands which are marketed as organic and natural shampoo.
Yes, hair loss can definitely be sign of other medical problems too. If you have always had healthy, thick hair that grows in a normal cycle, a sudden loss of hair or hair thinning can be a sign of stress or illness. Malnutrition, Anaemia, Hyperthyroidism and Hypothyroidism, Hormonal imbalance, Systematic Lupus Erythematosus etc. are example of few medical conditions which triggers hair loss. Sudden hair loss is never a good a sign. And, although many natural causes exist for this condition. It is best to see your doctor immediately after the hair loss starts to rule out any serious medical condition.
The biggest benefit to massage is increased blood circulation at the surface of the skin. A properly done scalp massage can increase blood circulation to the hair follicles, increase relaxation, decrease stress, condition the scalp, and boost the strength of the hair roots. The kneading pressure applied by massage warms the skin and opens up blood vessels to increase flow and boost circulation. If you use nourishing oil during scalp massage the oils will condition the scalp, reducing the occurrence of dandruff and dry skin that can interfere with the hair growth process. Oils also condition the hair shaft and root lessening the chances of brittleness, hair strand breakage, and split ends.
The primary component of hair fibre is keratin which is known as complex by nature. Keratins are proteins, long chains (polymers) of amino acids which cannot be made from a single fruit or vegetable. The cells in hair follicles make all the keratin protein from amino acids supplied via blood. Eating keratin protein does not help but choosing proper food which is full of vitamins and minerals, you can improve hair growth. A healthy diet full of fresh vegetables, fruits and proteins can keep your body in optimal function. Every function of your body, including hair growth, needs the right mix of vitamins, minerals, and proteins to carry out its job properly. There are so many vitamin pills available in the market as hair growth formula but most of them are known as placebo treatment. Vitamin supplements alone cannot prevent hair loss or improve hair growth. As per Ayurveda concepts, Spinach, Lentils, Yogurt, Sweet Potatoes, Blueberries, Kiwis, Tomatoes, carrots are good for hair.
